The Java Factory

The Java Factory Roasting Company is a locally owned & operated business.

The Java Factory began in 2005 as a small café, serving coffee and sweets in Tantallon, NS, but as demand grew so did the café!

We introduced espresso machines into our little café and haven't looked back since!

As luck would have it, about 6 months after opening, our coffee supplier decided to retire. Seeing an irresistable opportunity The Java Factory became The Java Factory Roasting Company. This allowed us to put our Java Factory stamp of approval on the beans as well as the drinks!

Well the success of The Java Factory speaks for itself and in the summer of 2008 the company expanded.

First, we moved our roasting facilities into our new Halifax Seaport location and then we moved our cafe in Tanatllon into the Credit Union building in St Margaret's Bay Square.

Needless to say it was a busy summer and we were all exhausted!!

Now that we're all rested up we are all set to begin our next Java Factory adventure...

is the premiere specialty coffee roaster in Nova Scotia.Conveniently located in the downtown city centre at the Halifax Seaport, we specialize in slow, small batch, gourmet roasting of unique coffees from around the world.

Our coffees are blended daily by our roastmaster to ensure their quality & freshness, and include Fair Trade Certified, Organic and Speciality coffee beans.

You can also try our coffees brewed, latte'd or mocha'd by one of our fabulous Java Factory Café baristas.

Small we might be, but we're changing the way Nova Scotians drink coffee. The secret of our great coffee is easy ... we love coffee, we love what we do, and we believe that "everyone deserves great coffee"!
